Community Dinners at Agape

Community Dinners are held every other month on the 2nd Wednesday

Every dinner features a cuisine from a different country, prepared by community members from the featured country. You will not only eat a delicious meal but you will learn about the foods of that country and how they fit into the nutritional guidelines provided by the USDA.
2026 dinners will be held March 11, May 13, July 8, September 9 and November 11.

History of Agape

Made possible by a grant from Healthy Food for Denver’s Kids Initiative through the Denver Department of Public Health & Environment.

Following the end of the pandemic electronic benefit transfer (P-EBT) program in 2023, the East Colfax Community Collective (EC3) and the Park Hill United Methodist Church (PHUMC) came together to launch the Agape Food Pantry to address the food insecurity we are seeing in our community.

PHUMC leads the purchasing and food distribution efforts with a powerful group of mission-driven volunteers, and EC3 coordinates community turnout, data collection, and interpretation. Together we have created a multilingual, choice-based food distribution model where community members can access culturally responsive food items identified by our community in a welcoming environment that reflects the diversity of our neighborhood.

Beginning in 2023 with one distribution per month, we are now running six or more food distributions per month and are distributing more than 120,000 lbs of food per year. We feel very blessed to be in community with everyone who attends the Agape Food Pantry and are very grateful to all of the volunteers who make this possible!
