Amy Mi is from Thailand and moved to the United States in 2016. She graduated from Aurora Central High School in 2019 and went straight to college to begin a Bachelor’s Degree in Hospitality and Tourism from MSU Denver. Because of COVID, in 2020 she took a break and went to Picken’s Technical College to obtain a certification in hospitality management onlien.
In 2021 she returned to MSU Denver to complete the degree and graduate.
As the oldest child, Amy has supported her her family in many ways, including with interpretation and translation of Burmese, Karen, Poe Karen, and Paoh. She has been a volunteer as a professional interpreter with various organizations and public schools in Denver and Aurora since 2019.
As a Housing Organizer with EC3, she brings many skills to the team and is committed to helping her community and others. With the ability to speak seven Asian languages, she is a huge help in connecting with and supporting non-English speaking community members.
